Dallas County is governed by the Commissioners Court, consisting of County Judge Clay Lewis Jenkins and four Precinct Commissioners: Theresa Daniel (Pct 1), Andrew Sommerman (Pct 2), John Wiley Price (Pct 3), and Elba Garcia (Pct 4).
Dallas County has no zoning authority. Unincorporated county land (less than 10% of the county area, mostly the SE corner) falls under the Department of Unincorporated Area Services (DUAS) for development permits. Visit dallascounty.org/departments/duas/ for permit information.
